"Yes, I know it’s just a sweater and a cashmere set. But these pieces are meant to be worn as a security blanket— durable for every season, climate and whatever comes our way next. Meant to be gifted to loved ones far away as a symbolic hug from you every time they wear it. Meant to feel like a collective warm hug after a shitty year."
Through 11/8/20, 10% of sales generated for Cassandra's collection will be donated to the Whitefield Foundation. We are donating to the #EndSARS movement in order to support our global community in their fight for justice and human rights. Cassandra and Public Habit are working towards a sustainable future for all and elevating voices that are too often left out of the conversation of tangible sustainability. Championing biodiversity and adding an intersectional approach to the fashion industry is a pillar of our collaboration.

We have partnered with Carbon Calories, a global initiative pushing for greater transparency, to assess the current carbon footprint of the Public Habit sweater in comparison to a conventional sweater made through a traditional supply chain many brands and retailers rely on. They came back with a lot of data (like A LOT) that you can review below. Below are some of our highlights.
Cashmere is one of the most carbon-intensive fabrics in the world but is also stronger than wool and cotton, and perhaps, is one of the most durable fabrics globally.
Using the cashmere garment for a longer period of time is the most impactful activity currently available to consumers to reduce their carbon footprint from clothing.
Unlike made-to-order, producing and shipping in bulk that many traditional retailers and brands rely on results in 20% or more unsold inventory.
Our manufacturing partner is a family-run factory based in Ningbo, China. They are one of the premier sweater manufacturers in the region with over 30 years experience. Their advanced knitting capabilities enable them to develop custom pieces within five days, minimizing waste and producing exactly what their customers want at extraordinary speed.
The facility is certified pollution-free with a water recycling program and exclusively all-natural materials.
We last visited the factory and met the owner, Sharon, in May 2019, when we did our assessment. The factory earned A rating for their high environmental and social standards.
We partner with the best in class manufacturers sourcing the highest quality cashmere and wool so the garments last longer and look new wear after wear.
You place an order and we make it just for you ensuring that we don't produce more than we need.
